| JC Solutions, LLC to establish manufacturing and packaging operation in Salisbury |
![]() Moberly Area Economic Development Corporation along with the Chariton County Commissioners and the Salisbury City Council today announced that JC Solutions, LLC producers of products for the Agricultural Sector will establish its manufacturing and packaging operation in Salisbury Missouri. The company will locate in the industrial facility at 400 Highway 24 West formerly occupied by SEMCO. The project will include a capital investment of $1,250,000 and will create dozens of local jobs when in full production. “We are excited to welcome JC Solutions, LLC to Salisbury,” said Mayor Del Dee Meyer. Meyer went on to say, “We are confident that the company is a good fit for our community and they have pledged to be good corporate citizens. The job creation and investment from this project will benefit Salisbury and all of Chariton County.” MAEDC Board Chairman Jerry Jeffrey added, “This project is another collaborative effort with several organizations including the Chariton County Commissioners, the Salisbury City Council, the Salisbury Industrial Development Authority, the Salisbury Board of Public Works, the Missouri Department of Economic Development and Moberly developer Darin Mongler. These partnerships are critical to the success of our economic development efforts in the MAEDC Region.” Chariton County Presiding Commissioner Tony McCollum added, “This project will have a positive economic impact for all of Chariton County and is exactly the type of project the Commissioners envisioned when we partnered with the Moberly Area Economic Development Corporation to represent the County’s economic development interests. We look forward to welcoming other companies to the County as well.” MAEDC Vice President David Gaines added, “This project is a direct result of and another success story for the MAEDC Regional Concept. This partnership is gaining significant momentum and through the pooling of resources and collaborative effort has become very aggressive. We have the tools we need to be successful in the competitive world of economic development.” MAEDC President Corey Mehaffy was quick to point out the importance of the partnerships to bringing this project to Salisbury. “MAEDC has shown the former SEMCO building to a number of prospects with no interest. In fact, we showed the building to this prospect over a year ago and they were not interested.” According to Mehaffy, at that time, the prospect was prepared to make an offer on the smaller GE facility but CBRE would not accept the offer as another transaction was in the works. Mehaffy added, “Unfortunately we thought the project was lost at that point.” Mehaffy went on to say, “The former SEMCO building did not show well and needed someone to make the necessary investment to get the building ready for an industrial prospect to move into.” According to Mehaffy Darin Mongler was willing to purchase the facility, make the necessary improvements and partner with MAEDC to market the facility to our prospects. Mehaffy added, “Darin understands the importance of job creation and saw this facility as an important asset to Chariton County. Fortunately we were able to bring the prospect back for another visit to the facility after Darin made the necessary improvements and the company liked what they saw.” MAEDC Chariton County Representative Tom Burkhart added, “We have been working with this prospect for over a year and have experienced numerous site visits. Company representatives recalled one visit and the impression made on them by the hospitality of the community and the heartfelt and emotional conversation with former Mayor Joe Fehling. Company representatives recalled another visit when Mayor Fehling was out of town and Mayor Bob Riley traveled from Moberly to meet with them and explain why Salisbury was the right place for them to make their investment. This project is a true testament to the MAEDC partnership.” Mehaffy also relayed that JC Solutions, LLC’s corporate attorney informed his office that the company has decided in an effort to support the community they will not be participating in state and local level incentive programs they may have qualified for. Mehaffy added, “This is almost unheard of in the competitive economic development world of today and the company should be commended for demonstrating their desire to become a good corporate citizen and partner with the community and the taxing jurisdictions in this way.” The company is in the process of designing the production and packaging operation within the facility. Equipment will arrive in the coming weeks and the company hopes to start the hiring process in the coming months. |
