St. Charles, Mo – On Thursday, November 10th, Associated Industries of Missouri (AIM) presented State Representative Randy Asbury with the organization’s 2011 Friend of Manufacturing and Industry Award at a reception hosted at The Columns in St. Charles, Mo. Representative Asbury was among 70 other legislators to receive this year’s award for voting 100 percent in favor of policies that promote business in the Show Me State. Many business leaders attended the event to honor this year’s award recipients.
“AIM is pleased to present Representative Asbury with our Friend of Manufacturing and Industry Award. He has supported business-friendly issues throughout the 2011 legislative session and has helped move Missouri business forward,” commented Ray McCarty, President of Associated Industries. “We are especially grateful to all of our award recipients for understanding what business leaders need to thrive in an economy that has been tough on business. AIM extends our deepest thanks to Representative Asbury and this year’s Friends for supporting the pro-business cause.”
Associated Industries of Missouri performed an in-depth analysis of pro-business issues during the 2011 sessions. The organization reviewed legislators’ votes on issues relating to:
• The repeal of Missouri’s Corporation Franchise Tax;
• Employment and Workers’ Compensation Law;
• Environmental Regulation;
• Job Creation Initiatives.
Associated Industries’ mission is to “promote a favorable business climate for business, manufacturing and industry.” AIM has been working for the businesses of Missouri for over 90 years.
