MOBERLY AREA ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION​

Organized in 1988 to promote growth and investment in Moberly and Randolph County, MAEDC is a non-profit, public/private partnership that works to promote new investment in the area in an effort to increase the quality of life of our citizens. In 2009, 2011 and 2013 MAEDC expanded to include several surrounding counties; today the MAEDC Region includes Randolph and Howard Counties with MAEDC functioning as the lead economic development agency for all Counties.

Our region is located in the heart of Missouri. Missouri as a state ranks high in many leading economic indicators. Here are some of the highlights.

  1. Missouri has low energy costs. In 2010, Missouri had the 8th lowest average commercial energy costs and the 10th lowest industrial energy costs in the U.S. (EIA).

  2. Missouri has an excellent regulatory and tax climate for business. In 2010, Missouri’s regulatory environment was ranked 7th best in the nation by Forbes. Missouri has the 5th lowest corporate income tax rate and the 16th best tax climate overall in the U.S. (Tax Foundation).

  3. Missouri’s workforce of over 3 million exceeds the entire populations of 20 other states, including neighboring Iowa, Kansas, Arkansas, and Nebraska.

  4. Missouri is one of only 8 states to receive the highest bond rating by all three rating agencies, Fitch Ratings, Standard & Poors and Moody’s Investor Service, in 2011.
