Ryan Eidson to Join MAEDC
After a multi-month search, the Moberly Area Economic Development Corporation (MAEDC) is pleased to announce the hiring of Ryan Eidson as Entrepreneurship Specialist. Ryan brings a wealth of knowledge in varying sectors to the unique position. His most recent position was as a marketing assistant for the University of Missouri Press. Ryan begins work with MAEDC on January 3, 2018.
"We had a deep applicant pool. In all three rounds of the screening process, Ryan distinguished himself as a quality applicant," said Corey Mehaffy, President of MAEDC. "I have wanted to deliver SBTDC and PTAC services from our office for some time now, and Ryan is a great person to fill that role. For the successful applicant, we were looking for experience in private sector, small business, and teaching roles. Ryan accomplished all of those for us, and our office is happy to have him join the team."
The position is primarily funded with a grant from the University of Missouri Extension to support Small Business & Technology Development Center (SBTDC) and Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC) services in central Missouri. MAEDC will provide SBTDC and PTAC services to an eight county region, and Ryan will provide additional entrepreneurship services to the three county MAEDC region. Ryan will transition into managing the entrepreneurial network Grow Mid MO and lead MAEDC's outreach to early stage companies.
Ryan Eidson shared MAEDC's enthusiasm for the position. "I've had my own business ventures in the past," he said. "I want to help others achieve their goals, and in the process, teach them more about what it takes to be successful in business. I look forward to contributing to the continued success of MAEDC and local entrepreneurs."
Ryan will begin by completing training with SBTDC and PTAC and learning more about the three county MAEDC region. MAEDC thanks Greg Tucker and David Steffes of SBTDC, and Jason Porch of PTAC, for their partnership throughout the hiring process; their participation in the interview process was exemplary.
