Vice Chairman Miller also welcomed a new Monroe County Representative, Mayor Neal Minor of Monroe City, who also owns an insurance business.

The Board of Directors extended their sincere thanks and best wishes to outgoing members Tim Carter, of Carter Memorials, and Glenn Turner from the Monroe County Commission. Chairman of the Board of Directors, Les Keleher said, “Glenn and Tim are big losses for us, they both dedicated so much to our board and I thank them for their service. On behalf of the entire board, I welcome Rob and Neal to our team. They will be great additions and I am excited to work with them.”

MAEDC President Corey Mehaffy expressed similar optimism, “Whenever we need to replace people like Tim and Glenn it is always going to be a challenge, but Rob and Neal are certainly up to the task. They both have great business experience and in Rob’s case prior experience on our board. They will make great board members and I am honored they have joined us.”

Members of the Board of Directors are chosen by the current Board of Directors and serve a 3-year term with an option to renew for an additional three years. Rob Cater has previously served, including as an officer, and Neal Minor is serving his first term.

Mr. Cater expressed excitement about the opportunity, “It was such a privilege to serve the first time and when they asked me to return to the board I happily agreed. The work MAEDC does in the community is impressive and I am glad to assist as a board member again.”

“Monroe County’s partnership with MAEDC has been central to our ability to remain competitive in the global business landscape.” Said, Neal Minor, “Our community has seen significant return on its investment in MAEDC, and I am excited to transition into this leadership position.”
