FY 2027 Solid Waste Grant Call

The Mark Twain Solid Waste Management District will begin accepting grant applications on April 6, 2026. Grants will be provided to assist with waste reduction, recycling, composting, and household hazardous waste projects. Collaborative projects within the region are highly encouraged. Organizations can work together and improve the lives of the residents living in Macon, Marion, Monroe, Pike, Ralls, Randolph, and Shelby County in Missouri.
Priorities for the grant call are: the acquisition of equipment for recycling centers and sheltered workshops, provide funding for the establishment of new recycling programs, assist with the purchase of equipment necessary to sustain or expand drop-off and curbside collection services, projects that implement or enhance Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) programs and/ or E-Waste recycling initiatives. The funding limit for this grant call is approximately $200,000. The total funding requested by any single applicant is not subject to a maximum limit; however, a minimum request of $30,000 is required to be eligible for funding. Further funding may become available prior to the application deadline.
Applications will be due by 4:00 PM on Tuesday, June 2, 2026. Only hard copies with original signatures will be accepted.
