Macon Elks Lodge #999 Presents Sponsorship to Support Human Trafficking Community Training

 

Macon, MO – April 22, 2026 – Chariton Valley is proud to receive a $2,500 sponsorship from Macon Elks Lodge #999 to support an upcoming Human Trafficking Community Training event to be held at the Macon Expo Center on Monday, June 1, 2026, from 6:00–9:00 p.m.

The funds were presented to Chariton Valley in support of community education efforts focused on raising awareness and providing critical training in the fight against human trafficking. The training will be led by Dan Nash of the Human Trafficking Training Center (HTTC) and is open to community members.


During the training, attendees will learn:

  • What human trafficking is and how it occurs

  • How to recognize potential signs of trafficking

  • An understanding of grooming techniques used by traffickers

  • The essential and important role individuals play in preventing and combatting trafficking


As the local internet service provider, Chariton Valley is committed to being part of the solution by helping educate the communities it serves and raising awareness about how technology can both enable and help prevent exploitation.
