Randy Asbury Recognized at December Board Meeting
Randy Asbury was acknowledged during last week’s board of directors meeting for his dedicated service to the Moberly Area Economic Development Corporation. Randy retired on Friday, December 15th, after four years of service at MAEDC.

December's guest on KWIXLand in the Morning's business spotlight is Michael Eaton, Executive Director of the Missouri Association of Manufacturers. The Missouri Association of Manufacturers (MAM) has been a not-for-profit organization since 1993 with the vision of promoting, preserving, and advancing manufacturing in the state of Missouri. They are dedicated to bringing value to the manufacturers of Missouri. Michael has extensive experience working with major retailers to bring products to market in the housewares and outdoor industries, as well as in process development design.

What is Leadership Northeast Missouri?
A regional leadership institute, which consists of six learning and networking sessions throughout the northeast Missouri region. The learning topics include: Transportation/Infrastructure, Healthcare, Workforce, Broadband/Agriculture, Navigating Government Systems. The leadership component utilizes the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator test, along with the Army Training Manual to round out the leadership conversation.

For over two decades, the Best of Rural Missouri Readers' Choice contest has provided audiences with the opportunity to share their favorite restaurants, festivals, destinations, and activities to enjoy with friends and family across the Show-Me State. This February MU will be launching their 3-day intensive program jointly offered by the University of Missouri- Columbia’s College of Engineering and the Missouri Training Institute. The Leadership Institute is ideal for the heavy civil, commercial, or industrial construction industries and is a great opportunity for employers looking to invest in their employee’s professional growth. Over 11.9% of Missouri job postings in the construction industry in 2022 were for construction managers.
The Leadership Institute is designed to meet this demand for construction managers by supporting employers with growth from within. Leadership Institute Participants will engage in workshops to enhance their supervisory skills and gain fundamental knowledge in construction contracts, estimating, planning and scheduling, construction safety, and workforce trends and issues directly impacting the construction industry. Registration is open and spots for the 2024 Leadership Institute cohort are limited. PDHs are available.
